21 weeks

another week down!

this past week was weird. not bad, of course, just so much anticipation to find out the gender and then we did and now everyone is excited..and then...? i mean in 20 weeks we'll have a baby and i think that might trump a revealing crotch shot (the baby's...), but for now it's just passing time. i guess the next step is "v-day", or viability, which is a date up for debate but i tend to think as 24 weeks (which is when we get another ultrasound, too!). then 3rd trimester rolls around and i take to demanding things and eating food in my recliner a la goldie hawn in death becomes her.

i've been thinking about this little boy, who gives me sweet kicks to say hi, and wondering all about him. what will he look like? what will we name him? we started this discussion last night with no real breakthroughs, though we do have 4 names on what i think will be a very long list. i keep adding things to our registry, especially now that i can pick gender appropriate boppy covers (even though i'm picking neutral items for the most part). i've also been working on the nursery inspiration board - i'll post next week with all the details. i guess this is what will keep me busy until the next milestones roll around.

i'm feeling great at the halfway point. my belly grew like crazy and i am clearly pregnant now. if someone mistakes my belly for a cheeseburger gut (which it sort of is), they're off their rocker. i bought a few items this week to help accommodate the bump. lots of clearance tops in bigger sizes to help expand the wardrobe and maintain the budget. my one pregnancy splurge will be a nice pair ($$) of jeans when i start to feel so down about my perma-leggings state that i just can't handle it anymore. overall, i'm still loving pregnancy. i have energy again, i've been taking walks, and i feel more like me than i have in months.
